The John Bury Trust was formed in 2001 by John (Jack) Bury OBE and his daughter Pam Rodgers at the end of their year as Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen Council.
The Trust was formed to fulfil a wish of Jack’s to support the young people of the Borough that he had served for many years.
Jack had spent most of his adult life working with social services and other child care and protection organisations. He truly believed that our future was in the hands of young people, and that they should be protected and cherished.
Jack died on New Years Eve 2004 but not before he had ensured that the John Bury Trust was going to continue the work that he had started.
The Charity grant aids young people to assist them in achieving their goals and pursuing their dreams. Hopefully we make a difference.
